A message from the Principal

January 22, 2018

Good Morning, this is Ms. Sloan, your principal.  I would like to take a few minutes to address the lockdown that occurred last Friday afternoon.  There was a disturbance in the North parking lot by the soccer field and Nex Gen.  It was reported that gun shots were fired and our school was placed in lockdown.  This was a serious threat to student and staff safety.  The disturbance involved former students and non-students.  Unfortunately, we did have students hanging out in the north parking lot and this is just not safe.  Student parking is in the parking lot off of San Mateo.  This is not the first time we have had issues in the north parking lot and from now on the fields and the north parking lot are off limits and closed to students during the school day.

It is important to follow all instructions during a lockdown.  Lockdown safety procedures are established by Albuquerque Police Department and APS Police. Your Del Norte teachers and staff are trained to follow these procedures.  Your cooperation is needed to keep all students and all staff safe during the lockdown.

Thank you for your cooperation.
